'The Truth Shall Be Told' is the debut album of Zacheous Jackson, a Londoner with Jamaican roots. Like many Rastafarians in the United Kingdom, Zacheous has links with the Twelve Tribes organization and as a Levite (member of the Twelve Tribes movement belonging to the tribe of Levi), he sees it as his duty to preach the truth and if necessary lecture his listeners. In that light, you can also read the Bible quote on the back of the album: "My people are destroyed for lack of knowledge: because thou hast rejected knowledge, I will also reject thee, that thou shalt be no priest to me: seeing thou hast forgotten the law of thy God, I will also forget thy children." (Hosea 4: 6). Content-wise Jackson divided the seventeen tracks on 'The Truth Shall Be Told' into four categories: hidden history (opener '400 Years', title track 'The Truth Shall Be Told'), reality ('Yute Dem Fi Wi', 'Conscious Music'), warning ('They Are', 'Come Away') and hope ('Better Dayz', 'Hold On'). 'The Truth Shall Be Told' was recorded in collaboration with Jimmy Cui's Rumble Rock Recordz label in Hawaii and is an excellent spiritual roots album reminiscent of some of the productions from the Virgin Islands.
