For yours truly 'Re-record… Not Fade Away' was the first introduction to Yesking, pseudonym of Rhys Adams. Calling 'Re-record… Not Fade Away' a reggae album would be a bridge too far, for there is also space for genres like afrobeat ('One More Time'), hip-hop ('Friends Like Mine', 'Secret King') and soul. For the vocals Yesking invited a host of London talent, including reggae and dancehall artists Kenny Knots and Lady Chann, rapper Mystro, Togolese Kodjovi Kush and singers Annie Bea, Mel Uye Parker and Rioghnach Connolly. 'Re-record… Not Fade Away' is the kind of urban record that makes you want to book a Eurostar-ticket to go and smell, feel and taste London for yourself. Small masterpiece!
