The American Fox Fuse label this time introduces us to a young Jamaican talent. Dwayne Nelson aka Xtr3me hails from Old Harbour in St Catherine and, judging from the tracks on 'Vintage 21: Ancient Tradition', from a musical point is part of the new generation of roots artists like Chronixx, Protoje and Jah9. 'Vintage 21: Ancient Tradition' opens strong with the socially conscious 'What About Justice' and roots tracks like 'Selassie Souljah' and the catchy 'Happy Am Alive' are of a similar nature. Poppy songs like 'Hard Ears' and 'Brighter Day' are more reminiscent of Rihanna's repertoire and the cadence of 'Idiot Style' echoes the work of Protoje. 'Vintage 21: Ancient Tradion' is a great debut effort, but counting only eight songs it's simply quite short. Young talent to keep an eye on!
