After the release of his 2015 'Truth & Substance' EP, things around Trinidadian singer Verse iTal (Stefan Wilson) seemed to quiet down again, but this '100% Roots' album proves that we certainly shouldn't write him off yet. The title of the album may leave little to the imagination, but for '100% Roots' Verse collaborated with a series of producers including Belgian MacLes, responsible for 'Jah Doh Sleep' and 'Well Prepared', but who also took care of the vocal mix and mastering of all tracks, Asher-E from Black Star Foundation (title track '100% Roots'), German Culture Rock Records (ganja tune 'Ganja Samurai', in 2016 Verse iTal's contribution on the Waiting riddim and immediately our favorite from the track list, 'How It Feels', his version over the Progression riddim), and Trinidadian producer D Rebell aka Dominic Gomes ('Lion Stride', iTal's version over the Aspirations riddim, and 'Work As One'). '100% Roots' counts 9 vocal cuts supplemented with two closing dubs and left us 100% convinced!
