The DMC label offered UB40 the opportunity to collect the songs that have influenced their career on one compilation. The aptly titled 'Under The Influence' contains mostly reggae classics like 'Wear You To The Ball' (U Roy & John Holt) or 'Youth Of Englington' (Black Uhuru), but also a bit of soul (Stevie Wonder's 'Never Had A Dream Come True' or Otis Redding's 'Try A Little Tenderness'). True reggae lovers will undoubtedly already own most of the songs on this collector, so the compilation will have to rely mainly on real UB40 fans; a fun gift but definitely not a must have!
