From now on we’ll also be featuring the releases of Jamaican Recordings and Kingston Sounds on these pages. The first label focuses on reprints of dub releases, while the catalog of the second contains compilations and albums by artists like Cornel Campbell, Linval Thompson, Horace Andy, The Congos and other greats from the roots era. Up first is 'Jackpot Dub'. On the rarity of these dubs from the catalog of Bunny Lee's Jackpot Records (the vast majority of releases on both labels come from Bunny Lee's vast archives) we won't pronounce ourselves, but they are definitely recognizable. Included in the track list are: 'Straight To Jackson's Head', a version of Horace Andy's 'You Are My Angel', 'Watch This Version' the dub version of The Uniques' 'Watch This Sound', a bit more obscure but also fun 'Lifetime Dub', the version to Delano Stewart's 'That's Life', 'Blessed Dub', again a version of a song by Horace Andy, this time 'Love Of A Woman', 'You're All I've Got Version' a dub of John Holt's song by the same title, 'Going Version', again a dub of a song by The Uniques, this time 'Give Me Your Love', 'The Poor Barber' a dub of Jackie Edwards' 'Ali Baba' and finally 'So Dub Say', a dub of Bob Marley's 'So Jah Seh'. Wicked vintage dubbing indeed!
