After 'Watch This Sound' (Pressure Sounds 21) the Pressure Sounds label again brings tribute to the work of The Uniques, this time putting lead vocalist Slim Smith in the spotlight. 'Absolutely Rocksteady' is a collection of known ('Give Me A Love', 'You Don't Care', 'Let Me Go Girl'...) and lesser-known work by the band and even though this compilation doesn't have much more to offer than 'Watch This Sound' already did, it's another absolute gem for rocksteady lovers. Smith met his faith in rather trivial incident. Coming home stoned one evening, Smith couldn't get in and thought it a good idea to break a window with his bare hands. The cuts he sustained proved so serious that Smith had already succumbed by the time emergency services had reached his address.
