After their reunion for the Reggae Sunsplash festival in 1983, Jackie Mittoo managed to persuade the original Skatalites to take to the studio again. That yielded a set of 11 songs, which, because of internal feuds during the recording process, would end up collecting dust on a shelve. Motion Records has now finally released the tracks, which, because they are the last studio recording of the original Skatalites, can count as true collector's items. And for those who aren't interested in all that, 'Rolling Steady' is still a fantastic Skatalites album in its own right.
