SistaSara (Sara Fuga) already gave us a foretaste of 'Universal' album with her 'Space Stepper' EP, released earlier this year and with 'Illusions Space Stepper' already containing a dub version of vocal cut 'Illusions Of Time' featuring on this new album.

Sara summarizes 'Universal' as follows: "'Universal' is a reggae album filled with inspiring messages. From songs about peace to calls to action to take a stand for ourselves and our beliefs; from songs about social justice to songs of gratitude; from spiritual tunes and instrumentals to the ode to deep universal connection in the title track.":

Beyond religion and race
Beyond language and face
Beyond philosophy and taste,
Universal embrace…

Beyond opinion, beyond division
Beyond language and tradition
Beyond identity just entity
Beyond… beyond

Beyond everything and anything
Beyond everyone and anyone
We are just one,
We are just one…

In the aforementioned 'Illusions Of Time' the singer talks about the state of lethargy today's society finds itself in, addicted to social media and lost in the past and future, losing sight of the infinity of the now, the present, where everything has a meaning, and in 'Prophecy' she denounces individuals who abuse spirituality and religion only to condemn and manipulate others. In 'African Roots', SistaSara points out our common African roots and in that song you can also hear the voice of her daughter Milla. Instead of heavy basses, on 'Universal' we get a more feminine touch with meditative rhythms, perfectly suited for dreaming about a better society!
