On their second album, Shaman Culture, a multicultural seven piece band from Gif-sur-Yvette (a town about twenty-five kilometers southwest of Paris), burst with positive energy. Lead vocalist Wallis hails from the French West Indies and constantly alternates between French and Creole. In that light, the fact several songs from the track list (opener 'Gwada', 'Ile En Mwen') make reference to Guadeloupe, should come as no surprise. As guest vocalists Shaman Culture invited Rojah B (aka Roger B or Roger Banton) and Kateb (Rastamytho), two artists with whom they had already collaborated on previous occasions. Tracks that definitely deserve your attention are the catchy ganja tune 'Weed', the excellent roots song 'Merci Oh' of which a solid dub version was also added, and 'Bass La', rousing Antillean dancehall. Excellent French release with Creole flair!
