On 'Envie', the 2012 debut EP by Sens Unique, their "world folk rock à la française" hinted at genres like folk, tango and even reggae, and that recipe is continued on 'Am'bras', the band's first full-fledged album. Opener 'En Route' (a song that was used for the soundtrack of VRT-series 'De Ridder') combines the frontera sound of bands like Calexico or Los Lobos with cajun-vibes from New Orleans, in 'Sortie De Secours' echoes of folk can be heard, and 'Tango Dans Le Désert' is just what the titles says it is: a tango. The same also goes for the other tracks on 'Am'bras', all balancing somewhere between melancholy and exuberant festiveness. The title of the album, for which Sens Unique again collaborated with producer Roel Poriau (Antwerp Gipsy-Ska Orkestra, Think Of One ...), is a play on words and refers both to the Flemish dialect word for quarreling as to the French embrasser ("to embrace") and even embarasser ("to bully" or "to embarrass").
