As the title suggests, for 'The Kingston Session', Sebastian Sturm & Exile Airline travelled to Jamaica, where they rerecorded a number of songs from Sturm's catalogue at the Harry J Studio. Producers in charge were Stephen Stewart and Samuel Clayton Jr., the latter already responsible for Sturm's 2013 'A Grand Day Out' album. Excluding an excellent more than eight-minute long cover of Freddie McKay's 'Free Man' (with great jazzy piano and guitar solos), there aren't any new tracks on this album, but that being said, the new recordings (almost all songs were recorded in one take) make for a completely different listening experience, more resembling a live concert and making 'The Kingston Session' Sebastian Sturm & Exile Airline's most convincing release to date.
