Jamaican-American Sasha Dias is the granddaughter of Winston Dias, who rose to fame as a member of The Movers, scoring a ska-hit in the 1960s with 'Sercy Tea'. On her debut album 'Break Free' brings this singer from Fort Lauderdale in Florida, serves up a mix of lovers rock, r&b (title track 'Break Free'), reggaeton ('Four Leaf Clover'), dancehall ('Name Brand') and covers of pop and rock ballads like Bonnie Riatt's 'I Can't Make You Love Me', 'Sometimes Love Just Ain't Enough' (originally by Patty Smyth and Don Henley and here in duet with Terry Linen) or 'Power Of Love' (originally by Jennifer Rush but made popular by Celine Dion and performed here in an acoustic combination of voice and guitar). Although not all genres on this album are our cup of tea - we were mostly drawn to lovers rock songs like 'Walk Away', 'That's It (Leave Me Alone)' or 'Burning With Desire' - Dias proves she can turn her hand to anything and has a voice to be reckoned with!
