Scandinavia seems to be the new go-to-place where innovative reggae projects are concerned. Roots Circus is a nine-piece band from the Swedish capital Stockholm and serves poppy reggae in which the voice of singer Linda Glad (who's singing style evokes memories of pop/reggae experiments like Beats International's 'Dub Be Good To Me' or Saint Etienne's 'Only Love Can Break Your Heart') and the melodica of Mattias Wennberg play a key role. Lyrically these Swedes don't seem afraid to go off the beaten track either and that makes their second album 'Wednesdays', recorded in the Rub-A-Dub studio of Internal Dread, a fresh wind in the current reggae landscape.
