With the release of this EP, Natanja is clearly commencing a new chapter in his career, collaborating, among others, with Canadian producer Mr. Lion (responsible for the mastering of the tracks on 'The Beginning' as well as composing the riddim tracks for 'Lake Of Fyah' and 'Battlefield'). On his previous EP, 'Reggae Provider', Natanja's French accent wasn't too overpowering, but on most tracks on 'The Beginning' that's another matter; the singjay perseveres in wanting to sing in English, but never seems to bother to hide his verbal shortcomings. The songs produced by Jamble Records from France are ok, but we preferred 'I See Dem' and 'No Cocaine', both produced by Fireclath Productions from Austria. As far as we're concerned Natanja's new beginning starts off on a false note.
