ATTENTION: only for lovers rock fanatics! Don't say we didn't warn you; Lukie D is back and apart from a few songs ('Crying Out', 'Your Kingdom's Falling') 'Love Again' is a most enjoyable lovers rock album. Many well-known riddims as well (Feel Good, Duke Street, The Session, I Know My Herb, Darker Shade Of Black) of which 'Young Love', on the original Je T'Aime riddim (adapted from Serge Gainsbourg's 'Je T'Aime Moi Non Plus') really stands out. Admittedly, every now and then (the sugar sweet ballad with L.U.S.T. or the Akon-clone 'Love In The Club') Lukie D goes over the top, but the album contains far too many great tracks to linger on the lesser ones. For the younger guns among you, just a heads up about the intro of 'Love Again': this is an a cappella reworking of 'A Change Is Gonna Come', originally done by Sam Cooke, whose version still gives yours truly goose bumps every time I hear it!
