The honor of opening the musical reggae year this time goes to Little Roy, who's 'Right Now' is available since January 2nd. The EP contains four tracks (three vocal cuts and one dub), each with a style and character of their own. Little Roy opens with the lovers rock ballad 'You've Made Me So Very Happy', originally a song by Blood, Sweat & Tears, but meanwhile also a reggae classic with versions by Barrington Levy, Mr Vegas and of course Alton Ellis preceding Little Roy's. 'Children Children' is a solid but lyrically quite simplistic song, but the real smash on 'Right Now' is the eponymous title track, for which Stingray-producer Carlton 'Dilly' McLeod seamlessly blended the horns of Ijahman's 'Moulding' with the riddim of the Wailing Souls-classic 'Very Well'.
