It's back to basics with these two Finns, because apart from an accordion (Markku Lepistö) and a double bass (Pekka Lehti) no other instruments were used for 'Helsinki'. That being said, this unexpected combination works wonderfully. Musically this album belongs in the blurry twilight zone between folk and world music, the duo creating the perfect soundtrack to an awakening city. With just two instruments Lepistö & Lehti capture the moment, just after sunrise, when a city passes from a surreal calm to frenzied chaos.
