As the title suggests for 'El Violin Latino' violinist Gregor Huebner went in search of the violin's role in Latin-American music culture. Latin music will rather be associated with percussion or wind instruments than with the sounds of a violin, but none the less the instrument is very much part of Latin-American music heritage. In Cuba Huebner found the violin in the charangas and guajiras, in Argentina in the tango tradition and in Brazil in the rhythm of the choro.
