If you are looking for some upbeat Brazilian party music, Graveola will not be your ideal choice. The six-piece band from Belo Horizonte is sometimes compared with the tropicalia veterans of Os Mutantes and the different band members aren't too afraid to put the social commitment they display in their song lyrics - on 'Camaleão Borboleta' that includes the power of the internet ('Sem Sentido'), the legalization of marijuana ('Tempero Segredo') and the fate of the Brazilian Indians ('Indio Maracana') - into practice as well. In that perspective it should come as no surprise Graveola was closely involved in the recent occupations of various government buildings in protest against the impeachment of President Dilma Rousseff, which a large part of the Brazilian population considers an illegitimate seizure of power. For 'Camaleão Borboleta' ("chameleon butterfly") the band joined forces with producer Chico Neves, who guided them towards the perfect successor for their 2013 'Eu Preciso Um Liquidificador' album. Graveola remains a Brazilian band to keep an eye on!
