The title of this new album by neo-tango collective Gotan Project almost makes a review unnecessary. 'Tango 3.0' symbolizes the trinity Philippe Cohen Solal, Eduardo Makaroff and Christoph H. Müller form, is Gotan Project's third studio album and hints at the further development of their mix of traditional tango-elements with modern electronics. Songs like 'Desilusion' and the very successful 'Mil Milliones' prove that dub and reggae have become a worldwide phenomenon, 'Rayuela' is a tribute to Argentine poet Julio Cortazar and the voice of the legendary Argentine sports commentator Victor Hugo Morales makes 'La Gloria' the perfect song for the soundtrack to the World Cup in South Africa. 'Tango 3.0' once again makes the listener drift off into a non-existent tango-universe and although musical perfection probably doesn't exist, Gotan Project comes pretty close!
