Still looking for the ideal soundtrack to get through Christmas? Swiss project Dub Spencer & Trance Hill is happy to help out with 'Christmas In Dub'! They've taken a dozen Christmas songs, including evergreens like 'The First Noel', 'Jingle Bells', 'Silent Night' or 'The Twelve Days Of Christmas', but also lesser-known German classics like 'Morgen Kommt Der Weihnachtsmann', known in the Anglo-Saxon world in the form of nursery rhymes like 'Twinkle, Twinkle, Little Star' or the 'Alphabet Song', 'Ihr Kinderlein Kommet', or odd one out 'Lasst Uns Froh Und Munter Sein' (in fact a hymn sung for the holiday of Saint Nicholas on December 6th), and gave them a more than successful dub makeover. The one time ('The First Noel Dub', 'Jingle Bells Dub', given a slight country vibe because of the use of a banjo, the jazzy 'The Twelve Days Of Christmas Dub') these classics are more recognizable than the next (the somewhat psychedelic sounding 'Come All Ye Shepherds Dub'), but it sure makes for a delicious Weihnachts-dub filled disc!
