Helder Aragao aka DJ Dolores was one of the creators of the Brazilian mangue bit movement and today is one of the most important Brazilian exponents in electronic music. A lesser known fact is that DJ Dolores has also been providing music for film soundtracks and theater plays for many years. Dolores' activities as a soundtrack composer started in 1997, when filmmaker Kleber Mendonça asked him to provide the music for his feature film 'Enjaulado'. Featuring his typical mix of electronic beats ('Amor, Barulho E Plástico'), dubby bass lines ('Satie Dub') and of course a multitude of Brazilian influences, the tracks on 'Banda Sonora' are all influenced by Dolores' work in the Brazilian film scene. Excellent soundtrack for a non-existent movie!
