The first thing we noticed when listening to this new album by Lester Bullock aka Dillinger was the fact the track list of 'Reparation Now' consisted largely of conscious tracks (that being said, Dillinger does go dancehall for 'Teck Gal'). The fact Dillinger better not venture into singing is proven by 'Good Friend', a song over the House Is Not A Home riddim. 'Tell Me The Truth' (Conversation riddim) is one of Dillinger's own classics recorded in 1977 for Harry J's Cancer label and 'Cup Of Tea', title track of Dillinger's 1980 album of the same name, is of the same order. A bit out there are 'Should All Acquaintance', Dillinger's interpretation of 'Auld Lang Syne', a poem by Scottish poet Robert Burns, in Scotland traditionally sung on New Year's Eve, and 'Another Sound Bite The Dust', the sound clash version of Queen's 'Another One Bites The Dust'. Varied, but not always coherent, album by a Jamaican deejay veteran.
