Da Fuchaman is the alter ego of Zemroy Thomas, a Jamaican singjay from Saint Ann singjay currently based in Bristol in the UK. His 2012 debut album 'Rise Up' unfortunately did not reach us, but we did get our hands on this 'Rasta Will Be There' EP, recorded in collaboration with Reggae Livication Records from Besançon in France. The singjay style of Da Fuchaman is reminiscent of that of Perfect Giddimani and among the six tracks on this EP, a mixture of new roots (title track 'Rasta Will Be There', opener 'Far Away'), conscious dancehall and lovers rock ('I Feel Love', 'Spend Some Time With Me'), we found no disappointments. Yet another artist to keep an eye on!
