Still remember Parisian do-it-yourselfer Sanguebom? After having surprised us with 'BlackStarLine' in 2012, he now returns with 'No Rolé Mundão' ("a journey around the world"), a collaborative project with Charel Perêrê aka Charel Angola, a musician, singer and capoeira master from Bahia. The two ran into each other during a capoeira event in 2005, but even though there was an immediate creative chemistry, it wasn't before 2012 that they actually headed into a recording studio for what eventually would become this album. Like for 'BlackStarLine' Sanguebom again relied on Mad Professor and Joe Ariwa, who mixed the album at their London Ariwa Studio. For the vocal part of ' No Rolé Mundão' the duo appealed on a range of guests including Brazilian singer Fubuia, Senegalese rapper Abbas Abbas (also present on 'BlackStarLine') and Antillean toaster Nerejah. With a mix of hip-hop, reggae, rock/metal and of course a lot of Brazilian influences 'No Rolé Mundão' is one of the most infectious soundtracks for the forthcoming FIFA World Cup in Brazil yours truly had the pleasure listening to this year.
