Mâcon based band Broussaï have built themselves a serious reputation in their home country France over the past decade. For their fourth long player the band headed to Kingston. 'Kingston Town' was not only recorded there (at the famous Harry J Studio), as for the lyrics of title track 'Kingston Town', the members of Broussaï drew inspiration from the sights and sounds of the Jamaican capital. Songs like 'Génération E-mail' or 'Seul Dans La Foule' sketch a nice image of the deceitful Western lifestyle. A nice outro is provided by The Mystic Revelation of Rastafari's Brother Sam Clayton who in 'Tous Africains' tries to convince us of the fact we are all Africans. From a musical point of view Broussaï's reggae is in line with that of their countrymen Danakil: the better French roots, focusing rather on content than on musical diversity.
