'In Dub Vol. 1' was long overdue, because apart from 'Dreams Of Freedom', a failed ambient-dub experiment by Bill Laswell from 1997, no decent dub versions of Bob Marley's songs ever appeared. For this first part - with a title like 'In Dub Vol. 1' we can only hope for a sequel - twelve tracks from the rich catalog of Bob Marley & The Wailers were selected and, it has to be said, these dubs were mixed with a lot of respect for both the original as the dub genre ('Lively Up Yourself' was even remixed by none other than Scientist!). Neatly done and a nice addition to the collection of any Marley-fan!
