Among Gypsy musicians Hungarian Monika 'Mitsou' Miczura has already acquired quite a reputation as she is regarded as one of the best Gypsy voices in the world. Mitsou's voice can be heard in Tony Gatlif's 'Gadjo Dilo' movie and she also sang with Ando Drom for a while, but it was with her own project, Mitsoura, that she finally discovered her true musical calling. On 'Dura Dura Dura' ("dura" is the Romani word for "grain"), accompanied by four top musicians (Andras Monori - wind instruments, Mark Moldvai - electronics & samples, Peter Szalai - percussion and Miklos Lukacs - cimbalom), she creates a kind of ambient soundscapes in which influences from Indian music, Gypsy traditions and modern electro are woven into a trance-like mix with her wonderful voice as a centerpiece.
