When talking about new bands coming out of Jamaica - think Pentateuch, Rootz Underground or Dubtonic Kru - we certainly can't forget Raging Fyah. This five-member band from Kingston has been going at it since 2006 and specializes in decent new roots, spiced up with influences from pop and soul, occasionally reminding yours truly of Third World. Kumar Bent (vocals), Anthony Watson (drums), Courtland White (guitar), Demar Gayle (keyboards), and Delroy Hamilton (bass), met at Edna Manley College. Their new album 'Destiny' is a top production filled with inspiring uplifting songs that doesn't disappoint anywhere and should be rated among this year's best Jamaican productions. Raging Fyah's 2011 debut album 'Judgement Day', which unfortunately was not distributed in Europe, thanks to the French Soulbeats Records label will now also get a second chance, as they are releasing it in one box together with 'Destiny'. Top tip for 2014!
