With 'Plant The Seed' Mawyd, a five-piece band from Bordeaux, presents a successor for their 2012 debut 'Look At The Tree'. The fact the band can also count on the respect of fellow musicians is evident from the fact that for this album they got the support of Groundation-keyboardist Marcus Urani and Groundation/Rising Tide vocalist Kim Pomell, and it's especially the latter who takes many of the songs on 'Plant The Seed' to another level. With General Levy, Mawyd already collaborated for 'Look At The Tree', and this time he accompanies the band in 'Mr Politician'. The cover of Bob Marley's 'Wake Up And Live' wasn't really called for, but can convince none the less. For those wondering what on earth band name Mawyd might mean, we have to disappoint, as the band members compiled the name from a series of randomly chosen letters. Very solid roots effort from the most famous wine region of France!
