Two years after 'Entre Les Lignes' French reggae pride Danakil return with a new long player. The fact France has changed quite a bit in the past two years hopefully needs no further explanation. With the numerous terror attacks by Islamic extremists, one might even forget that in the spring of this year you also had the so-called Nuits Debout ("up all night"), a series of nightly protests. Initially only directed against the labor reforms proposed by the Government of Prime Minister Valls, the Nuits Debout quickly grew into a general protest against the excesses of neoliberalism. Danakil was also involved in the protests, and with '32 Mars' (the first Nuit Debout was held on March 31st, 2016) perfectly summarize their feelings and experiences. The nightly resistance on and around the place de la République must no doubt also have provided the inspiration for 'Paris La Nuit', for which Danakil invited Patrice. Nice combination, but the real killer on 'La Rue Raisonne' you'll find all the way at the end of the track list, as for closing track 'World Of Reggae' the band invited Flavia Coelho, Yaniss Odua, Volodia, The Skints' Josh Waters Rudge, Nattali Rize, Brahim and Anthony B to the studio! As proven by 'Écho Système', the Parisians are also concerned about global warming and the effects it has on the earth's ecosystem, and media-influence and abuse re tackled in 'Mediatox' ("Allons enfants de la télé, le grand mensonge est arrivé!"). If you haven't realised it yet: Danakil is 'Back Again'!
